Hannu Palosuo was born in 1966 in Helsinki, Finland. In 1989 he came to Rome on a scholarship, where he attended the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University "La Sapienza", specialising in "History of Modern Art", and the Academy of Fine Arts. After a few years he moved permanently to Rome where he lives and works. He has had numerous experiences of artistic work in Europe and abroad. Palosuo becomes the creator of a modern figuration that reveals how a recurring theme can be of absolute topicality. On the evocation of memory and remembrance, the artist makes everyday life the protagonist of his paintings, with contrasting but concordant tones to highlight the positive and negative of the image, its presence and its emptiness. He also participated in the Venice Biennale in 2009, 2011 and 2013, the Cairo Biennale in 2010 and the Curitiba Biennale in 2017 and 2019.
