A sonata, a landscape, an arrangement, an archive, an abstraction, perhaps a digression, all contain within them the measure and tones of composition. To compose is the act of putting elements together, more or less harmoniously, leading them toward unity and a sense of wholeness.

We present and bring together three measured, attentive artists with lyrical sharpness. In their works, the canvas or surface fills with orderly disorder; everything calibrates, lives, and vibrates in every direction, filling them with life. Color, rhythm, and tone work around a central lyricism that expands its flavor. The surface opens, reaching outward as if it were sound.

The exhibition “Monitor#1 - Composition” launches a series of exhibitions that will monitor the work of artists who have participated at Spazio Menexa. Our aim is to highlight and follow the artistic evolution of those connected to our history and recent exhibition program, offering a sort of progress report.

Paolo Assenza, Piotr Hanzelewicz, Nicola Rotiroti are the first three names. Their current work is seen in dialogue with each other and with the space. A collaboration begins with Pensiero Meridiano magazine, an art criticism publication, aiming to work across multiple fields with active enthusiasm, in Rome and beyond.
