Flavia Mitolo comes from a family of sculptors from Pietrasanta, where she spent long periods, and from childhood was drawn to the work of great international masters whom she observed with great attention. She felt the need to find her own path in painting. After graduating from the Art High School, she devoted herself to the field of advertising graphics, studying at the European Institute of Design. In Pietrasanta she undertook a rigorous apprenticeship with Jack Marshall, sculpture teacher at Yale University. In 1991 she left for London, where she remained for two years, coming into contact with the constantly evolving global culture of the city. She returned to Italy, to Milan, and for many years worked in a role that took her tirelessly around the world, allowing her to savour the differences and colours of our planet. She returned to Rome in 2001, where she resumed her pictorial research with rigour and professionalism. She currently lives and works in Rome.
