Tancredi Fornasetti was born in Rome in 1983, where he currently lives and works. A graduate in Decoration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome under the guidance of Professor Michele Cossyro, he has developed since the beginning a deeply personal pictorial language that intertwines geometry, architecture, and a refined sensitivity to color.
His work moves within the vast field of Abstract Art but renews its coordinates through a contemporary and visionary approach. In his paintings, lines and planes multiply into complex perspectives and structures that evoke imaginary urban spaces, impossible architectures, and metaphysical geometries. The artist draws inspiration from both the rationalism of the 1930s and De Chirico’s metaphysical lesson, filtering them through a sensibility shaped by digital experience and today’s visual culture.
Fornasetti’s painting does not merely depict but elaborates and transforms. References to art history — from Mondrian to Kandinsky, Malevich, and Soldati — blend with the influences of cinema, scenography, and virtual reality, giving rise to a visual syntax that combines analytical rigor and emotional impulse. His “contemporary skylines,” all executed freehand, embody a balance between order and chaos, between geometric construction and instinctive gesture.
The dialogue between space and color lies at the heart of his research: a constant tension between opposing forces — centripetal and centrifugal, analytical and synthetic — that generates continuous visual vibration. His surfaces open like doors, streets, and windows onto worlds that contradict and sustain each other, guiding the gaze through infinite paths.
Since 2006, Fornasetti has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in Italy and abroad, collaborating with galleries, museums, and leading curators. His works have been shown at Galleria Mucciaccia, Galleria Mario Giusti HQ in Milan, Virus Art Gallery, and Galleria Medina in Rome, as well as in international projects curated by La Maison de La Petite Sara in the Republic of San Marino. Over the years, he has participated in major exhibitions such as Affordable Art Fair, Tiferno Comics, and ArtExpo Arezzo, and in initiatives curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, Vincenzo Mollica, and Francesco Gallo Mazzeo.
A cultured and inquisitive artist, Fornasetti continues to explore painting as a living and evolving language. His works combine memory and innovation, introspection and experimentation, creating a visual universe where geometry becomes emotion and space turns into narrative.
