Welcome to the inaugural evening of PAR - Performance Art Rome, the new platform dedicated to the promotion, dissemination, and sharing of Performance Art in Rome and its surroundings.
PAR was born as a meeting space for a living, relational, dematerialized art, outside market logics, yet deeply anchored in the reality we experience. An art that needs no frames or pedestals, but finds its meaning in action, presence, and the encounter between artist and audience, here and now.
Since 2020, PAR has created moments of poetry in action, collective reflection, and unexpected dialogue, supporting Italian and international artists and building an attentive and inclusive network. With the official inauguration, this community opens even further, offering a rich program, a growing archive, a dedicated library, and a vision that intertwines art and daily life, in the city’s public spaces and its most intimate corners.
Guiding us on this journey are the artists of PAR: Daniela Beltrani, Francesca di Ciaula, Caùl, Paola Fatelli, and Silvia Stucky. Each of them, with their own research and sensitivity, will lead us this evening through a series of performances addressing existential, ecological, poetic, and social themes. A journey of actions and gestures, in which everything arises from the relationship.
The evening will begin with a presentation of the project, its origins, the aspirations that drive it, and the planned activities. This will be followed by a Q&A session, before immersing ourselves in the most direct and powerful dimension of performance: the experience itself.
As Marilyn Arsem wrote:
“Performance art is real. The time is only now. The place is only here.”
And this is our time. This is our space. Thank you for being here.
