He holds a degree in Modern Literature, a PhD in Italian Studies, is a scholar of Contemporary Italian Literature at the University of Catania, graduated in Theory and History of Artistic Activities, and teaches Art History in high schools. He is registered in the lists of cultural heritage professionals as a first-level art historian and works as an art expert for the Court of Ragusa. He has collaborated with numerous art and literature journals. He is currently an editor of “Segno”, a columnist for “segnonline.it”, where he curates the column on the art system “Sistematica”, a contributor to “ArtsLife”, where he curates the column “Progetto (s)cultura”, and a member of the editorial board of “Autonomia Estetica”, the journal of the Chairs of Aesthetics of the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo. He has mainly studied Italian poetry and art of the nineteenth, twentieth and contemporary centuries. From 2016 to 2018 he coordinated and curated all the exhibitions held at the Civica Raccolta Carmelo Cappello in Ragusa. He has directed and scripted documentaries and published dozens of catalogues, editions of texts, and volumes of art and literary criticism. He has curated conferences and art exhibitions, including, at Museo Riso in Palermo: the exhibition Cenere (2019), the retrospective of Momò Calascibetta Il giardino delle delizie (2021), the exhibition of Silvia Scaringella Senza Titolo (2022), the exhibition of Rosa Mundi Forest Lux (2022), and Momò Calascibetta’s installation La Venere dei Guardoni (2022). Also in 2022 he was the general curator of the Le vie dei Tesori Ex Voto programme (Palermo, Quattro Canti), of the sculpture exhibition at the Acquario Romano-Casa dell’Architettura Acquaria. Featuring The Sculpture Habitat, together with Studio M’arte, and, again with Studio M’arte, of a series of events at the Acquario Romano for the National Day of Youth and Memory. The programme Featuring The Sculpture Habitat was presented again in a second edition in the summer of 2023. Also in the summer of 2023 he curated, with Michele Citro, Onyria 2. Omaggio ai Pink Floyd at Palazzo Mezzacapo in Maiori and, with Natalia Gryniuk, the art fair Sicily Summer Art Expo at the Cathedral Museum and Donnafugata Castle in Ragusa. He is curator of events at the Acquario Romano Casa dell’Architettura. His latest major exhibition, spanning 2023 and 2024, was the group show Presepe Contemporaneo, curated with Michele Citro at the Reggia di Portici.
