Hannu Palosuo was born in 1966 in Helsinki, Finland. In 1989, he moved to Rome on a scholarship, where he attended the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of “La Sapienza” with a focus on History of Modern Art, and the Academy of Fine Arts. After a few years, he settled permanently in Rome, where he lives and works. He has had numerous artistic experiences across Europe and beyond. Palosuo became a creator of modern figuration, demonstrating how recurring themes can be of absolute contemporary relevance. Centered on memory and reminiscence, the artist makes everyday life the protagonist of his paintings, using contrasting yet harmonious tones to highlight the positive and negative aspects of the image, its presence and void. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 2009, 2011, and 2013, the Cairo Biennale in 2010, and the Curitiba Biennale in 2017 and 2019.
